Activities

Malherbe International School's pre primary classes offer a perfect environment for children to explore a variety of different activities from the 5 Montessori classroom areas: Sensorial,  Practical life, Mathematics, Language Arts, and Cultural Studies. In addition, the Jolly Phonics method for teaching phonics has been integrated into our program to maximize the students' learning and facilitate their transition into Primary.  - Learn more about the Jolly Phonics method of teaching phonics here: http://jollylearning.co.uk/overview-about-jolly-phonics/

Over the course of the day, the children will explore a number of different activities from the different classroom areas, and they will also partake in group activities such as Show & Tell or Story Time during circle times. Other activities include cooking classes, tending the vegetable garden, or visiting the school's library.

Each year the teachers in pre primary (preschool) choose a theme for the year to base the learning experience around in the class which also involves fieldtrips. This year’s theme is “Health & Nutrition”. The children will be discussing Me, Myself and My Family, The Body, Nutrition, and Staying Fit. Class outings will be tied in with this school year theme.

Our preschool students have weekly music and sports lessons, and optional Introduction to French classes are offered 3 times a week at our Le Vésinet campus to help our foreign pupils develop the verbal skills they need to be fully integrated into their local environment.
